Sanford O’Coon writes speculative fiction about perception, belief, identity, and the uncomfortable space between what we know and what we only think we know. His stories tend to wander through psychological mystery, dark humor, theology, science fiction, and the occasional brush with the supernatural—usually with ordinary people caught somewhere in the middle.He is particularly interested in stories that leave a few questions unanswered and give the reader something to argue with long after the last page.Away from writing, Sanford enjoys traveling, cooking, music, tennis, history, theology, archaeology, and anything mechanical or beautifully over-engineered. He collects old books, woodcuts, maps, art, and other objects with a story behind them. He has a weakness for old-world places, rotary-engines, good coffee, and rooms filled with more books than anyone reasonably needs.
